Culinary perfection
They had a beautiful home, but had grown frustrated by the kitchen. The busy stay-at home mom was quietly coping with cabinets that were coming apart and appliances with minds of their own. She needed two ovens and a bigger refrigerator. But the real problem? Traffic flow.
Our clients had a good sized U shaped kitchen, but the design impeeded their enjoyment of the space. The natural traffic pattern of the home went directly though the kitchen work space and formed a bottle necked at the end of the peninsula. The pair of gourmet chefs loved to entertain, often cooking while their guests stood nearby enjoying a glass of wine and great company. However, maneuvering around friends in the poorly designed kitchen often made it difficult to fully enjoy.
The improved traffic flow of the home bypasses the primary aspects of the kitchen with the use of a large island. The large L shaped island creates an inviting divide for friends and family to gather for conversation on one side- while leaving the chefs an abundant space to work their culinary magic on the other. The beautiful new cabinetry and appliances, and the well connected dining area for family and friends to gather and a new desk area make the entire remodeled space function perfect for the needs of the family, including daily kitchen functions and frequent entertaining.
