Whole Home Remodel Perfectly Fits Our Arlington Family’s Lifestyle

With tight spaces throughout, outdated kitchen and bathrooms, and an old HVAC system that needed replacing, our clients knew that their Arlington-area home needed a total remodel if it was ever going to work for their family. Our team was tasked with updating existing spaces and systems, creating more functionable spaces and expanding the home to improve this family’s lifestyle while also adding substantial value to the property.

Adding More Space

Our team found several ways to create a much larger footprint, including adding a new bedroom and bathroom and building a two-story addition with a primary suite onto the back of the home. We also designed a new screened-in porch with a connecting deck and opened up the front staircase. To top it off, we created a new, expanded primary suite and relocated the existing bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen for better flow.

Room for Entertaining

The inviting porch and deck areas are perfect for hosting family and friends. Enormous windows showcase the property’s gorgeous views while a stone fireplace adds a rustic feel – a perfect spot to gather on the crisp evenings. A large, mounted TV that’s visible from the deck means that mingling guests can keep an eye on the screen no matter where they sit.

A reimagined back entrance/mudroom is the perfect spot for visitors to hang their coats as they make their way inside. When we pulled up the existing flooring in the space we found this incredible dark tile underneath. Our clients loved it so much that they asked us to incorporate it into the design, which was a smart decision for their budget but an even better one for keeping with the rustic farmhouse feel that is present throughout the rest of the home.

Guests are sure to love the accent wallpaper that makes the blue and white vanity pop in the hall bathroom. We go the extra mile for our clients – the special permits our team needed to obtain to bring the waterline and meter up to code were well worth it to create this whimsical space.

A Kitchen Designed for Gathering

This newly expanded kitchen is now the perfect spot for sharing good food, conversation, and building family memories. Shaker-style cabinets and beautiful quartz countertops help reflect the natural light, while an apron sink with herringbone tile backsplash and stunning cherry wood accents throughout add a special warmth. The enlarged island even has enough room for a home chef to prepare as friends gather and pour another glass of red.

Off the kitchen’s main area, a custom pantry that features u-shaped shelves in staggered heights accommodates every inch of space while still providing easy access to ingredients and small appliances. It’s the little things, right?

The Ultimate Retreat

This project would not have been a success if we didn’t give our clients a private oasis to unwind after a long day. The expanded primary bedroom includes endless storage with new walk-in closets, and an incredible view of the nature that surrounds the property.

However, with its enormous walk-in shower, stunning tilework and just the right amount of rustic charm, the attached primary bathroom might be our favorite part of this new space. A bench, custom shelves and a double showerhead create the ultimate spa-like experience that is the perfect spot for relaxing.

With more space and carefully planned designs, our clients are absolutely thrilled with their new home.
