Junior Residential Architect

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with our design & production team to develop creative residential architecture solutions

  • Utilize knowledge of Arlington County or relevant jurisdiction Building Code and Permitting requirements to gather and collect design conditions for new construction, interior and exterior alterations or repairs.

  • Evaluate site conditions and constraints for construction projects.

  • Participate in team meetings to coordinate design options and ideas.

  • Develop appropriate schematic plans per project scope and budget.

  • o   Research concepts and materials to support the team on technical issues influencing concept development. Select materials and finishes while keeping within budget

  • Use CAD tool effectively to draft design drawings including 3D models.

  • Submit architectural designs to management and clients for review and approval.

  • Modify and update designs based on review comments from management and clients.

  • Work within timely schedules to coordinate the completion of tasks through to final project completion

  • Conduct on-site observations and provide recommendations to help streamline ongoing design projects

  • Prepare, lead and participate in client presentations

  • Manage and execute design assignments in a timely manner.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in computer design field or equivalent technical school or equivalent experience in REVIT, AutoCAD, design or field experience

  • Master's degree preferred

  • 2-5 years of experience, knowledge of residential construction field, reading blueprints and architectural drawings preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Complex problem solving ability required. Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced atmosphere.

  • Computer Aided Design for residential construction 

  • 2-5 years of experience in developing BIM models for residential construction

  • Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD

  • Generate Plan Drawings, Details, and Schedules for projects in various phases of design and construction according to industry standards.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Sheets

 

Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
