Kitchen Remodel
FALLS CHURCH, VA
This kitchen renovation showcases the home’s main living space to address the limitations of the previous kitchen, which was dark, cramped, and lacked efficient flow. With only one small window and a low ceiling height, the original space felt enclosed and disconnected from the rest of the first floor.

The new design focuses on creating a bright, open, and functional kitchen that better supports the family’s daily routines and entertaining needs. The ceiling height was raised to dramatically improve the sense of openness and comfort within the space, eliminating the low clearance that previously made the kitchen feel confined. To further enhance the layout, the kitchen was opened to the adjacent dining room, formerly used as a children’s classroom area. This allowed for improved flow throughout the first level of the home. This change created a more cohesive living and gathering area while maximizing natural light.

The updated layout also introduces modern appliances, including a convection range, improving both cooking performance and efficiency. A new door from the kitchen to the backyard strengthens the connection between indoor and outdoor living, making it easier for the family to access their outdoor space.
