A family had a vision - and no, it wasn’t just about finding five minutes of peace. Parenthood, right?
They wanted a home built for entertainment. A house that could coolly proclaim, “Parenting doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten how to throw a fabulous margarita night.”
Instead, they got a daily wake-up call from the chaos of sharing the only primary bathroom with their two kids – better than coffee, but not nearly as fun!
To save the day (and possibly a few parental sanity points), our team suggested a two-story addition to the back of the home. This would allow for a larger primary bathroom on the second floor, a new screen porch, a bigger deck, and a first-floor layout that didn't resemble a game of Tetris.
Here's what our clients are waking up to now:
A New Welcoming (And Hazard-Free) Foyer*
With the extra space from the home addition, we transformed the foyer into a sleek, organized entryway that greets guests with a warm embrace (minus the obstacle course of games).
*Dog optional but highly recommended for full foyer appreciation.

Bye-Bye Powder Room, Hello Dream Kitchen
Kitchen relocations are one of our most common renovation habits. We guess it's because clients love tossing outdated customs out the window and now welcome multi-functionality with open arms.
(Curious how old rules still matter? Check out our blog on the kitchen triangle rule – it's a classic for a reason!)
This kitchen was backward – a black hole of storage, space, and seating – a culinary Bermuda Triangle. To turn it into the entertainment hub of their dreams, we relocated and expanded, adding creative storage solutions that doubled its functionality.
We added a large kitchen island, perfect for meal prep and additional seating. Now, the kitchen remodel shines with Shades of Light Glass Jug Pendants.

The old, dark, and cramped powder room was banished to a more private, well-lit area at the back of the house, transforming the old powder room space into a secret walk-in pantry. Our team of architects and interior designers seamlessly integrated the cabinet doors, offering ample space to store all of our client’s kitchen goods. Because let's be real, who would say no to extra snacks?

The relocated powder room got its share of love, now featuring Rebecca Atwood Blooms Wallpaper in Navy. Guests might now spend more time snapping selfies than freshening up!

To top it off, we seamlessly connected the kitchen to the dining room, developing an open space floor plan, while still maintaining the integrity of a separate dining room space.
The dining room matches the farmhouse transitional design. The Fallon Forged-Iron Linear Chandelier is a showstopper– adding a touch of modern to the dining room's rustic feel. The family can now entertain in style and (hopefully) avoid those squabbles over who gets the last seat.

A New Grown-Up Bathroom
The new addition gave us the perfect chance to create a more spacious primary bedroom and a private bathroom just for the parents. The bathroom now flaunts a large double vanity with ample storage and countertop space, perfectly tailored to the clients' style and needs.
Finally, a space where mom and dad can enjoy some peace and quiet without a single rubber ducky in sight.

A Bug Free Screen Porch
Nothing extinguishes the anticipation during a movie night faster than an annoying buzz in your ear. Not hard to guess why this is our clients' new favorite space.
We had to combine two old decks to create a spacious, cozy outdoor retreat. This screen porch keeps the summer pests out, while a fireplace provides a warm escape when winter hits. Now the only thing to worry about is who gets the last piece of popcorn!

Decked Out Exterior
For the exterior, we designed a new deck that connects to the screen porch and leads to the backyard.
The stylish gray with white trim looks sharp and complements the interior, proving even your outdoor space can have it all – just like the happy family inside!
